When you register with OTISS you must select which type of account suits your needs.
| Account Type |
Description |
Landowner
|
- Register as a Landowner if you own, occupy or are responsible for land with trees or site furniture. This account will be the main administrative account for the estate.
- Your ‘estate’ is created within the OTISS database and you can then create the sites, tree safety surveys (for managing your tree stock) and furniture surveys (for managing the gates, fences, signs and other infrastructure on the estate).
- If you have staff that also need to use OTISS, then each one should register for an ‘Employee’ account. On the Estate->Access web page you can grant them access by typing in their login/email address and selecting which level of access they require: ‘administrator’, ‘manager’, ‘viewer’ or ‘inspector’.
- If you work with arboricultural consultants, then each one should register for a ‘Consultant’ account. On the Estate->Access web page,
you can select which level of access they require, or you can limit them to just doing specific surveys.
|
Employee
|
- Register as an Employee if you work as an employee or agent for a registered OTISS Landowner.
- Employees cannot do anything until a Landowner assigns them a role in managing the estate.
- On OTISS, employees register for free – the Landowner pays the annual per-user license for each Employee account.
|
Arboricultural Consultant
|
- Register as an Arboricultural Consultant if you manage tree stock and/or carry out tree surveys for multiple clients.
- For each Client that you register, an ‘estate’ is created within the OTISS database. You can then create the sites, surveys and trees required to manage the tree stock on this estate.
- If you work with other consultants (e.g. subcontracting projects), then each one should register with OTISS as a ‘Consultant’ account. On the Clients->Access web page, you can grant them access to your clients by typing in their login/email address and selecting which level of access they require. Alternatively, you can work with them by assigning them to carry out specific surveys for you.
|
Client Access
|
- Register as a Client when your Arboricultural Consultant is providing you with access to the data and maps that they have collected on your behalf.
- Clients register for free – but they cannot do anything until a Consultant assigns them to view an estate.
