The Tree Survey Andorid™ app allows you to configure a list of suggestions for the SurveyNotes and Recommendations fields. These lists are stored as simple text files on the Android device. When you are filling in an inspection form, each line in the file is presented as a suggestion in the dropdown lists. These text files can be edited and changed to suit your needs.
To customise the SurveyNotes and Recommendations suggestions.
- Exit the Tree Survey app; i.e. on the app’s MainMenu press the BACK button on your Android.
- Connect your Android to a PC using a USB cable. Configure the Android connect as a Disk Drive.
- On the PC the Android should appear as a new disk drive.
- On this disk drive goto the folder called TreeSurvey. This directory should contain a set of text files used to configure the inspection forms (e.g. treesafety_surveynotes.txt).
- Using a text editor such as Notepad, you can edit these files. Each line in the file will appear as a suggestion in the dropdown lists.
- Alternatively, you can use a pre-prepared set of files by copying them in from the PC.
- Disconnect the Android device from the PC.
- Restart the Tree Survey app. The updated files will be read and the new suggestions will appear on the inspection forms.
